Simple Aurora Generator

This is an emissive volume shader node you can append to your Blender project to generate animated aurora in a scene. There are simple settings to make various adjustments such as complexity, color, and size. This works equally well in Cycles and Eevee.

This aurora generator is a basic volumetric shader system. This blend file contains a landscape, a camera, two empties, a cloud deck, and a collection that contains the aura generator system (a cube, a volume material, and two empties). The world also contains a basic star system and red glow at the top of the sky. The collection called 'aurora' can be appended into your project for easy integration into your scene. The system is animated using extrapolated keyframes on the main mapping node inside the main shader group. There is also an empty that controls the locations of a noise texture that ripples through the aurora. Changing this keyframe will change the speed of the rippling and undulating of the aurora.
